A Finished Project

I started this weekend wanting to complete two projects. It turns out that was a little too ambitious. We did get one project complete. I have been wanting to paint our front door for a long time. It was red when we bought it. I didn't like the color of red.

It looks much better in this picture than in person.

Ty and I made it through this project without any disasters or fights.
This is quite the accomplishment for us!

{please ignore the white trash aluminum foil on the window.}

The kickplate really stands out now. I think we might need a pewter or black one.

Now I just need some mums and pumpkins!

The black looks really great. Did it take tons of coats of paint to get coverage? When we painted our door red, it had took like 10 coats...... ridiculous. It's never getting painted again. =)

The door looks great. It's amazing what paint can do! I know it must have been a chore. Painting always seems easier than it really is. Great job!

It looks great! I did read somewhere that red doors are supposed to be good luck and good feng shui (I don't know how to spell that).

Love the door! I'm wanting to paint our door, trim and shutters different colors, too. I just haven't gotten around to it! Where'd you get the black cake stand in the previous picture? I LOVE it and have been looking for one similar!

You've inspired me. I have the black paint and just haven't gotten around to painting our door yet. It's a pitiful shade of dark green!
